POSITION SUMMARY

The Customer Service(Point of Sale Specialist) is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with product inquiries, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. This role involves operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, stocking merchandise, and maintaining an organized store. The associate will collaborate with team members to support store events and promotions while upholding store policies and resolving customer concerns.

OBJECTIVES

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, answering product inquiries, and resolving concerns quickly and professionally. 
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to ensure fast, accurate transactions, process returns and exchanges, and maintain a smooth checkout experience. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and assist with restocking shelves and displays to enhance the shopping environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, efficient work environment and support store events and promotions. 
  • Uphold store policies and procedures to ensure a safe, professional environment and contribute to store operations. 
  • Support store events and promotions, including sales and community outreach, to drive customer engagement. 
  • Contribute to a positive team culture by demonstrating a strong work ethic, great attitude, and commitment to team growth. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of store products and promotions to confidently assist customers and encourage feedback.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma or GED (required) 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service 
    • 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience (preferred) 
    • Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system or cash register (preferred) 
    • Basic merchandising experience (helpful but not required)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
    • Frequent walking, bending, and reaching to assist customers and restock merchandise
    • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs
    • Hand dexterity for operating POS systems and handling small items
    • Ability to move, stack, and organize products on shelves and in storage areas
